Visit to Center for Disability Services of Universitas Brawijaya, Malang

As part of the UK-Indonesia Joint Working Group on Higher Education and the UK-Indonesia Global Partnerships Grant 2023 by the British Council, held from May 15-17, 2024, in Malang, the UNU Yogyakarta team visited the Center for Disability Services at Universitas Brawijaya, Malang.
The visit focused on sharing experiences regarding services for students with disabilities, curriculum development, and admission mechanisms for students with disabilities. Additionally, discussions were held with students with disabilities to understand how the disability services have impacted their learning and social experiences.
In the future, the Center for Disability Services at Universitas Brawijaya will share their expertise with faculty members and staff at UNU Yogyakarta on developing a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) curriculum, admission mechanisms for new students, and technological advancements to support students with disabilities.
It is hoped that the outcomes of this activity will benefit students, academic programs, faculty members, and staff at UNU Yogyakarta in realizing its vision as an inclusive campus.
This activity is part of the project “UK-ID Disability Inclusion Partnerships: Developing Inclusive Policies and Practices for Greater Accessibility in Higher Education”, a collaboration between UNU Yogyakarta and the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, UK, supported by the British Council.
